Renowned for her empathetic and patient-focused approach, Dr Bianca Bandarra excels at building long-term relationships with her patients, guiding them through their health journeys with personalized care plans. Her reputation stems from her ability to blend medical expertise with genuine compassion and understanding, treating people as human beings rather than just a collection of symptoms, blood tests, and investigations.
Fluent in Portuguese, following medical school at the Faculdade de Medicina de Petropolis in Rio de Janeiro, Bianca completed two years of surgical training with a broad exposure to acute medicine and trauma. This included working in busy accident and emergency departments in Rio’s favelas.
After moving to Dublin then Belfast, she trained and worked in general practice. She has held appointments in Paediatrics as well as Gynaecology and Women’s Health. She obtained her Membership to the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2023.
She is appointed a ringside doctor by the Norwegian boxing association. She is currently studying for a diploma in dermatology and can perform small surgical procedures in house, such as removing moles and other small lumps and bumps under local anaesthetic. She also undertakes full body mole checks to screen for skin cancers using a dermatoscope to image all suspicious lesions.
Aside of medicine, Bianca enjoys cooking for family and friends, particularly authentic Italian recipes from her great grandmother’s unpublished recipe cookbook. She also enjoys spending time exercising and keeping a healthy and active lifestyle.

A half hour appointment will be made in order to deal with any acute problem and also to go through our patient registration process.
The office is open 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Thursday, 8 am to 5.30 pm Fridays and 10 am to 1 pm on Saturdays.
Out of hours care is solely provided by Dr Sophia or Dr Tamimi. The 24 hour telephone line will be picked up by an answerphone which will give instructions regarding contacting the doctor on call. The doctor can give telephone advice and where appropriate will supply prescriptions through to pharmacies. Consultations on video or face to face either in the practice or at home if in W1, or neighbouring locations where possible, are provided. Under certain circumstances it may be appropriate to arrange admission to hospital directly which we can do via our close network of specialists. Please note that the above services are available to patients who are registered with the Practice and there is a charge for out of hours advice and services for those patients who are not on monthly membership. Those on monthly membership will have direct access 24/7 to their GP of choice.
We value your feedback; good or bad, so please let us know. We carry out and publish annual patient satisfaction surveys. We are registered with The Care Quality Commission that regulates health and social care throughout England. We also have a formal complaints procedure if things have gone really badly and this can be accessed by contacting the Practice Manager.
The general answer to this is “No”. UK based Private Health Insurance companies will usually only recognise for the purposes of reimbursement, the services of individuals whom they define as Specialists.
We do not generally deal directly with insurance companies and work on the basis of individuals and corporations settling their own accounts and then claiming back directly with their respective insurance companies.
You can register at your first consultation with an acute problem or choose to register ahead of this. You will then pay for individual consultations, out of hours telephone advice and repeat prescription requests and referrals. Laboratory fees and vaccinations/drugs are additional where appropriate.
